What Types of Lobby Signs Are There?

Lobby signs come in several basic varieties:

These options are not exclusive. For example, we can fabricate a lighted logo, with stainless steel letters beneath, formed plastic letters layered above, all on a painted aluminum back panel shaped to your sign.

These new-style lobby signs, which we manufacture, encapsulate LEDs in solid plastic so the entire lighted sign can be as thin as 1 1/8"—a dramatic improvement over older reception signage.

Basic — Routed Plastic Letters

Routed plastic letters are available in thicknesses from 1/8" to 1". Letters are CNC-routed or laser-cut from your artwork for precise, consistent results, then finished for a clean edge.

Basic — Formed Plastic Letters

Formed plastic letters are a durable, economical way to get a professional look—great for commercial, industrial, and office environments (less ideal for retail).

Available in many styles and colors, with sizes from 2" to 72" (larger custom sizes available). Benefits include:

Add a Backer Panel and Improve Even the Best

The trouble with all individual letters is that the wall behind them can detract from the appearance of the sign.

If the wall is textured unevenly, the letters will be mounted unevenly.  Or, if the color that you want for the sign blends in with the wall you are attaching it to then you need something to separate the logo from the wall behind it.

If you frame the sign with an aluminium panel, either rectangular or cut to the shape of the sign, you can dramatically improve the overall appearance.

The panel can be painted, or even be brushed aluminium.

It looks even better if it is backlighted.

But it looks Best if it is both front and back lighted (see Diamondcast™ above.)

Glass Signs - Good - and a different look

Sometimes individual letters aren't the best for your business.

In these cases, a glass sign works very well. By custom forming the glass and adding decorative "barrel" standoffs we can create a beautiful sign for the lobby or entrance of any business.

• The edges are polished,
• The panel can have color, or clear (transparent), frosted, etc.
• Lettering can be flat or raised,
• Supports can have many different shapes and colors,
• Literally hundreds of different options!
